Darby distance runner Doug Raymer “tripled” at the Jim Johnson Invitational in Missoula last Saturday (April 21). The senior, who is headed to UM next fall, won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs at the small-school meet on Dornblaser’s track. Raymer’s time in the 1,600 (4 minutes, 35.45 seconds) ranks him second in the state among all boys.
Bigfork freshman Makena Morley swept the 800 and 1,600 runs at the Seeley-Swan Invitational last weekend in Missoula. Morley, the Class B state champ in cross country, clocked a time of 5:01.30, which is the second-fastest metric mile turned in by a girl, regardless of classification, yet this spring.
